Some frequently asked questions

  • A GP/specialist referral helps you receive a Medicare rebate and helps provide coordinated care with your health team. If you do not have a Medicare card or are an international patient, you do not require a referral.

  • Yes, Dr Nyasha does offer telehealth for some appointments, especially follow-ups. If it’s appropriate for your situation, we’re happy to arrange it for you. Especially if you live out of state or country.

  • This is a private billing practice, and there may be an out-of-pocket cost after your Medicare rebate. We believe in being transparent—a member of the team will send you the fee schedule before confirming and are always happy to talk you through fees before your appointment or surgery.

  • Your first appointment is designed for you to share your story. Dr Nyasha will take time to go through your concerns and history and talk about your goals. Together a plan will be created that feels right for you.

  • We understand that many concerns feel urgent, and we do our best to offer appointments as soon as possible. All referrals are carefully reviewed, and urgent cases are prioritised.

  • Once your appointment is confirmed a new patient registration form is sent to you. This contains information relevant to your appointment. Please fill it as soon as possible. If this is all complete, then you do not need to bring anything else to your appointment.

  • We understand that life happens. If you need to make a change, we ask for at least 24–48 hours’ notice so we can offer your appointment to someone else who may be waiting.

  • Dr Nyasha can guide you through your treatment options. If surgery is needed, she will provide you with thoughtful, expert care.

  • If surgery is planned, you will be given clear, step-by-step instructions so you feel prepared and supported every step of the way. A member of the team will always reach out to you a week before surgery to ensure you are ready for surgery.

  • Absolutely. Your privacy is very important to us, and your information is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.
